The Company
Telish Wine Cellar was established in 1960 and privatized in 1996. The company specialises in the production of high quality red wines from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. For the past few years, thanks to the constant efforts and devotion to strict vineyard and grapes control, as well as the application of classic and modern technologies, Telish Wine Cellar has become one of the leading Bulgarian wine producers. In its continuous attempts to improve the quality of its products and meet the expectations of the most demanding and competitive export markets, in 2005 the management of Telish Wine Cellar has appointed as exclusive winemaking consultant Mr. Michel Rolland, a French oenologist of world renown and reputation. The annual output of the winery is 1 million bottles, destined both for the domestic market and for export. Currently, our major export markets are USA, Canada, Sweden, Korea, Germany, Denmark, Croatia, Russia, Czech Republic, etc.
Vineyards
Telish Wine Cellar has a long-term leasing agreement for 350 ha of vineyards located in South Bulgaria, Haskovo region, where the soil and climatic conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties are the best in Bulgaria. As part of the project the winery has recently initiated, another 200 ha of new company-owned vineyards will be planted in the same region
The Wines
Within the brands Chalet and Telish two pure varietal wines (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) and a varietal blend (Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot) are produced by classic French technology. These wines are made from carefully selected grapes, sourced from the company vineyards in Southeast Bulgaria. The wines have a beautiful ruby-red colour. They are well balanced, with intense aromas of berries, ripe cherries and black fruits, elegantly combined with spicy notes. Besides the powerful fruity finish, they display a strong distinctive personality.
